Assistant coach of the Black Stars Maxwell Konadu has said one of the most difficult moments in a competition is to play third place matches hence his side is bent on avoiding that.
According to Konadu, Ghana has had very difficult moments in preparing for third place matches and will do everything possible to avoid a third place match this time around.
“It is very difficult to motivate players to prepare and play in third place matches. In fact third place matches are very difficult and we have had very painful experiences in preparing for such matches.
“This time around we have put in place very different measures to ensure we progress to the next stage of the competition.
“We have different coach this time around who is adopting a different approach to the game.
“Hopefully, we are going to win tomorrow, when we meet Equatorial Guinea,” he stated.
He said they have a lot of respect for Equatorial Guinea because they have worked hard to reach the semi-final stage.
“We have also worked to reach this stage and I have no doubt that, we are going to overcome their threats,” Coach Konadu added.
