Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has said the team is on cause to post an expected results when they host Mauritius in the first leg qualifiers of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Accra on Sunday.
The Black Stars piped the Hawks of Togo 1-0 in a preparatory match on Monday, and Gyan who is returning to the team following an injure layoff recently says the team is hitting their strides in time.
Gyan said that, "The game was a build up against Mauritius and our focus was to train, do well and build up our confidence.
“I think we played well as a team, tried to implement all that we have been practicing in training and it came out well. The coach wanted us to move the ball around more to help build up our confidence’’.
The Al Ain attacker added that “Togo is a strong side and we are satisfied with the way the game went.”
The Stars will begin a residential camping on Thursday.
