Gerald Ankrah officially submitted his resignation to the Hearts board on Tuesday to with immediate effect relief himself of his post as the clubs, General manager.
Ankrah, a stench Hearts fan has been at the helm of affairs for not more than 15 months but has been at the receiving end of both unsatisfied fans and football pundits alike for what is termed as an “autocratic managing” of the club.
The news of his resignation made major headlines as many had envisaged his departure as was in the case when it was reported he had resigned in 2015 but came out to dent and rubbish those clams and report.
Hearts of Oak board member, Frank Nelson Nwokolo in an interview expressed shock among board members when they received the letter as Gerald Ankrah was present when Hearts were held to a 1-1 result against fellow premier league side, Inter Allies at the Accra sports stadium.
He said, “we were surprised when Ankrah served the board his resignation. He stated his reasons for leaving as personal meaniing he had some unsatisfied matter.”
“As a board, we respected his decision and iin so doing accepted his resignation,” he added.
The club later in the day released a press statement to officially confirm Gerald’s departure from Hearts.
