Accra Hearts of Oak skipper, Robin Gnagne has revealed that he and his colleagues were determined to beat Medeama SC in their second Ghana premier league fixture.
The Phobians pulled off a superb performance to beat the Mauve and Yellow at the at the Tarkwa T & A park on Sunday to continue their flying start, beating the MTN FA CUP champions for the first time at the T&A Park.
And after the hard-fought victory, the club’s skipper who was voted man of the match said their determination prior to the game paid off.
“We were determined to win the game, we know they are a good side and they were playing at home too but we knew with the kind of determination in camp we will beat them,” the Ivorian said after the game.
“We have not won against them here, so we told ourselves that we want to make history and at the end of the game we made it. The coach told us what we were supposed to do an I think it worked perfectly; we are not going to be complacent, we are taking match after match because the season has just started,” he added,
The Phobians are currently at the second position with six points in two games and their next game is against struggling Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium.
