Ghana Under-20 skipper Lawrence Lartey has stated that the Black Satellites are preparing adequately for the impending World Youth Championship in Turkey and they are bent on emulating the successful feat attained by the 2009 squad.

Lartey who also plays at the heart of defense for AshantiGold knows it will not be easy but he is well assured that the team can go far.

“We will do our best and I pray that the good Lord will also be on our side and grant us the needed points to qualify from the group which also includes Spain, France and USA,” Lartey told Goal Ghana.

“We are going to take it game after game and if we get out from the group stage then we will see what happens next, we will not disappoint Ghanaians,” he added.

The former Nania FC player was very instrumental as Ghana clinched second position in the Africa Youth Championship in Algeria.

The tournament begins on June 21 and ends on July 12 with Ghana opening their accounts against European giants France.
