Mirror football reports that West Brom Albion are in the race to sign Ghanaian midfielder Derek Boateng.
The Dnipro midfield linchpin is believed to be valued at £2million and West Brom are ready to bring the player from the unhappy surroundings of Ukraine where he was a victim of alleged racism.
Boateng, 28, was sent off in March for pushing an opponent who allegedly called him a 'black monkey'.
It is also reported that the Albion sporting director Dan Ashworth is working on a deal after releasing the versatile Paul Scharner and that talks are set to begin next week.
Derek Boateng joined Dnipro from Spanish side Getafe after being named the club's player of the season. He has been linked with Fulham in the past.
