The winner of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top four competition will receive a trophy and a cash amount of GHC 5000 ($1350).
Speaking at a press conference in Kumasi, GHALCA Chairman Alhaji Ali Raji revealed that apart from the cash prize for the winners, each of the four participating teams has been paid an amount of GHC 15,000 ($4050) ahead of the tournament, adding that each club would receive a third of the gate proceeds for each match played.
“The winner of this year's Top 4 tournament would receive a trophy and a cash prize of GHC5,000. All the clubs have received cheques of GHc15,000 as preparation fee for the tournament. GHALCA, and clubs would each take 33.3% of gate proceeds per match.”
The competition, which makes a return after a two-year hiatus, will commence on Saturday when Hearts of Oak faces Heart of Lions in Accra; with Asante Kotoko facing Ashanti Gold in Kumasi on Sunday.
The return legs of the semifinals will take place in Kpando and Obuasi on Wednesday, with the grand finale slated for Sunday September 7 in Kumasi.
