Assistant coach of the national Under-20 team, the Black Satellites, Yaw Preko is backing stand-in coach Maxwell Konadu, as the substantive coach of the Black Stars.
The Stars recorded a 3-1 win over Guinea in the second leg of the AFCON qualifier at the Tamale Stadium, after pulling a one all draw game in Morocco.
Preko, told Asempa Sports that, the tactical acumen exhibited by coach Maxwell Konadu in the game against Guinea was clear a demonstration of his competence and ability to do the job.
“If you look at the changes he made in the course of the game, you will agree with me that, he understands the game very well and can do better as a coach”. He said.
According to Preko, though the coach did not apply for the job, he was of the view that, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) should consider offering him the job of the head coach of the Black Stars.
Preko, however noted that, the final decision rests with the GFA, though he was convinced his former team mate was capable of doing the job.
Coach Maxwell Konadu, was in charge of the Black Stars in their two games against Guinea and managed to scoop four points out of six to move to the top of the table.
It is however not clear if he will remain in charge of the team, in their next game against Uganda in November.
