Capable of playing at left back or in midfield, Boateng is a technically gifted, quick-silver stopper with bags of power. He has chosen to represent Ghana ahead of England but Boateng is another London born starlet with a big future.

Profile

Left footed centre back Daniel Boateng is another hugely successful product of the Arsenal Hale End Academy, and is set for big things during the coming season.

Daniel was born in London but has Ghanaian roots through his parents, and recently rebuffed the advances of the England Youth setup to pledge his allegiance to the country of his descent.

An injury to Rhema Obed towards the end of the last campaign gave Boateng the opportunity to make his mark, and after some solid performances alongside Oliver Nicholas in the heart of the defence, he attracted interest from suitors around England, all keen to snap up the young starlet.

But he remained with the Gunners featuring throughout the Atalanta Tournament, evening bagging a decisive penalty during the penalty shoot out in the final.

Known for his powerful and aggressive approach, if Danny keeps up his rapid rate of development he could even push into Steve Bould’s Under 18 side.
