20 year old defender Emmanuel Ofori-Teyehugmeh is urging his

Amidaus Professionals teammates that it’s time the club returned to winning

ways.

Ofori, on loan from Berekum Chelsea where his contract does

not run out till the end of 2013/14 season, has been ever present for Amidaus

in their debut campaign in the Ghanaian top flight.

But the hugely promising defender is in wonderland on what

is exactly happening to the club which held so much promise after holding

champions Asante Kotoko to a scoreless draw in Kumasi on the opening match day.

A victory on match day 2 pushed the debutants up the table but

four matches later have yielded a solitary point even though, according to Ofori,

Amidaus have been playing well.

“Our performances keep improving. If you watch our matches,

you’ll be impressed but I don’t know what the problem is that we keep conceding

late goals. It happened to us at Aduana last Sunday and it was the same case

against Heart of Lions when we dew 2-2 at home. It’s been tough to take but we

are not thinking about relegation,” he told 90 MINUTES.

 The youngster harbouring

drams of replacing John Mensah in the Black Stars is desperate for a revival

when Amidaus host also struggling Berekum Arsenals on match day 7.

“We’ll beat Arsenals, it is a must. We want to finish at

least in the top 8 so we need to start winning again. It’s true that our strikers

have to up their efforts but teamwork is the key,” said Emmanuel Ofori who last

year succeeded after a 3-week trial at Italian Serie B side Grosetto but couldn’t

sign because of work permit limitations.Credit:
