Nigeria's dominance in the African Women's Championship continued when they beat Ghana 1-0 in this year's final to lift the cup

Reigning African Footballer of the Year Perpetua Nkwocha settled the drab encounter with a 14th minute strike, to make her the tournament's top scorer.

Ghana goalkeeper Gladys Enti failed to handle Ifeanyi Chijiene's cross and Nkwocha reacted by slotting into the net, to send the 25,000 home fans into raptures.

Meanwhile, South Africa beat Cameroon 7-6 on penalties on Friday to clinch third place at the tournament.

The Super Falcons, have won every edition of the tournament since its inception in 1998.
