Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston has suffered an injury which could prevent him from playing in January's African Cup of Nations.
His Scottish side Hearts have reported that they are sweating over the fitness of their key midfielder for Saturday's encounter with Motherwell.
Kingston's complaint is thought to be very serious but it is not known if he will be forced on to the sidelines for an extended period of time.
If he stays out for long, it could affect his chances of playing for the Nations Cup which starts on 20 January.
The Ghanaian suffered a knock in training on Tuesday, the nature of which has not been confirmed.
Kingston has been inspirational for both Ghana and Hearts this season and has been tipped to win the Scottish league's best player award.
