Nyarko hints at Premiership stay

Everton's transfer-listed midfielder Alex Nyarko has not ruled out a move to another English club, but admits there has been no interest so far. The signing from French outfit Lens, who was placed on the transfer list after going AWOL following his much-publicised confrontation with a Toffees fan in the recent clash with Arsenal, said: "Nothing has been sorted out about my future yet. No-one has been in touch but I'm hoping to hear something in the next few weeks."

Although the likelihood is that he will return to the continent, Nyarko said he has not ruled out staying in the Premiership. The Ghanian international added: "I don't know if clubs will take me in England because of what happened, but I'll wait and see."

Blues boss Walter Smith remains confident the club will have no problem selling Nyarko, although it seems unlikely Everton will recoup the ?4.5million they paid to bring him from north-east France last year.

Smith said: "I am sorry Alex didn't fit into our set-up, but he is a good level of player and I am sure we will have a lot off interest in him over the summer."
