Injury toll increases for Ghana

Fri, 1 Feb 2002 Source: .

As if the absence of Michael Essien, Baffour Gyan and Matthew Amoah due to injury did not cripple the Black Stars. Reports from Ibrahim Diarra from Mali indicate that Derek Boateng has just joined the other 3 on the injury list. However it is the hope that all 4 players would respond positivelly to treatment and be ready for the showdown with the Super Eagles on Sunday. In other camp news, the players are looking forward to this match to redeem themselves since they felt they did not play very well despite beating Burkina Faso.

Security has been tight in the Black Stars camp to avoid any invasion by the "Night Ladies". Ben Koufie and co so far are keeping a close eye on players so that they do not frequent any nocturnal activities. So business has not been too good for the "Night Ladies" in their quest to find any customers from the Ghanaian team who seem more focussed on the upcoming game with Nigeria.
