Former GFA Chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is preaching caution against those who have already written the script that the national team will beat Malawi no matter what.
The Black Stars were drawn on Thursday to play the Southern Africans in a two-legged play-off for one of final 15 qualifying slots to next January’s CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
It may appear an easy hurdle on paper but Dr. Tamakloe won’t buy any of it. He is urging coach Appiah to be cautious:
“I won’t say it’s an easy draw. Football these days is highly unpredictable even if you watched what happened in the European championship when Italy beat Germany, nobody expected it.” Dr. Tamakloe continued: “The fact that we have been drawn against Malawi whom understandably are no where near Ghana’s football history, should be no reason for us to celebrate.
“Malawi can surprise us if we don’t plan well. These days you can’t say this country or that is weak so you are going to score them. It’s a question of determination and hardwork, even Brazil can be defeated now.”Credit:
