Richard Nunekpeku, Marketing Manager of Samsung Ghana, has said his outfit is considering expanding its scope in the next edition of the “Samsung-Chelsea the Blues Campaign”.

The campaign that seeks to give young players once in a life time experience for young players drawn from Brazil, China, Ghana, Nigeria, Mexico, South Africa and Thailand will see Samsung Ghana increasing the number of juvenile and media participation in the next edition.

Nunekpeku said, “We at Samsung believe in giving young players, once in a life time experience, that is why we want to spread our tentacles wider to ensure that more young players and media men participate in the project.

“We are going to change the format each year and we are in talks with some foreign teams to negotiate for the return of the participants in future”. Nunekpeku said in at a press conference.

Ishmael Mensah, 12, of Kwashieman Anglican Primary, represented Ghana on a seven-day trip to Stamford Bridge, England after emerging winner in a two-day soccer clinic at the Lizzy Sports Complex, Accra.

About 200 juveniles between the ages of 8 and 13 participated in the clinic.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Mensah noted “I learnt a lot during my visit at Stamford Bridge, it was a nice experience to see all the big players I watch on TV.

“I learnt a lot of techniques from the big players. I worked very hard to attract the attention of the trainers and some scouts and, I hope to go far be like Torres’ and Matas one day.”
