Suspended Asante Kotoko midfielder Yahaya Mohammed could still play for the defending champions before the end of the season, according to head coach Mas-Ud Dramani.
The 26-year-old is yet to kick a ball in the second half of the season having been banned indefinitely for absconding to Libya to sign a pre-contract with Al Ittihad.
Yahaya’s contract runs out at the end of the season with all signs pointing he is heading for an exit, but Dramani is not writing him off yet.
“Yahaya Mohammed is still a Kotoko player, at least as far as I am concerned. We have had our own issues with him but as a coach, you have to find a way of bringing everybody on board to play a part and that is very important,” Dramani told GHANASoccernet.com
“We will find the most appropriate way that will suit both parties and come to a conclusion but until then you do not have to rule out anything.”
Meanwhile, the former OGC Nice player has since apologized for his unacceptable behavior.
“I have regretted leaving to Libya without informing Kotoko of my intentions to sign a pre-contract with Al Ittihad.
“This is a lesson other players should learn something from as they progress in their football career, because I am a bit fortunate with the punishment inflicted on me by the club and they might not be that lucky if they do the same,” the 2014 CHAN star told Angel FM.
Kotoko, who hold a ten point lead at the top of the table, will play New Edubiase, Hearts of Oak and Aduana for the rest of the season.
