André Ayew has vowed to work hard at West Ham United after expressing his delighted over his switch from Swansea City to the Hammers.

Ayew, 26, agreed a three-year deal with the Hammers with an additional two-year option for a club-record fee of £20.5m after successfully undergoing his medical.

The versatile player has joined the London-based club on the back of an excellent debut campaign in the premier league with Welsh club Swansea.

Ayew signed for Swansea last season from Marseille on a free transfer and gave a wonderful account of himself - as he finished the Club's top scorer with 13 goals in as many matches.

And he is happy to have signed for an ambitious club like West Ham, adding he is already looking forward to the new challenge.

?“I am very proud and happy to be at this magnificent Club. I am happy to be playing for these fans and I hope to make the people very happy here." Ayew told West Ham official website.

“The Club have a lot of ambition and have a great manager. They want to become a bigger Club every year and with the new Stadium and a new training ground, you can feel they are moving onto another level and I want to be part of this project."

“I want to train hard, do my job and show that I deserve to play for West Ham United. I want to give back to the manager and the fans the confidence they are showing me."
