Ghanaian footballers in Europe turn their attention from their domestic leagues to chasing success in the European Champions League this week.

Three of the 16 clubs who go into the first leg of the first knockout round matches on Tuesday and Wednesday have Ghanaian players on their books.

Juventus will have the Ghanaian captain Stephen Appiah in midfield as they play Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna in Italy on Wednesday night.

Michael Essien is set to feature for Lyon in their match away at Real Socieded in Spain, also on Wednesday.

In the tie of the round, Samuel Osei Kuffour and his Bayern Munich teammates face up to favourites Real Madrid.
