The evolution of beach soccer in Ghana will take a new dimension from Saturday 19th October 2019 when the "Sand to Gold" project is officially activated with the Super League.
The fishing community of Abuesi in the Western region is expected to host the first leg of the CalBank Super League with newly registered beach soccer teams.
The league format would witness matches in other coastal enclaves including the Central, Volta and Greater Accra regions.
Winners of the regional tour would then play a final round robin weekend at a yet to be decided venue in December.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has explained that the Sand to Gold project is a significant chapter in the creation and development of an entirely new industry in Ghana.
Meanwhile Ampofo Ankrah and his executives would move under the wings of the much anticipated new Ghana football administration in the coming weeks.
The current beach soccer management team were given an extension of their mandate by clubs at an extraordinary meeting in September at the Accra Sports Stadium.
It is expected that after the Gfa Congress on October 25th, plans would be set in motion for beach soccer elections and the appointment of new officers.
