Eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in midweek, Olympique Lyonnais suffered a fresh setback as their pursuit of a fourth straight Ligue 1 crown was put on hold by a 1-0 defeat at home against Paris Saint-Germain FC. Essien played 90 minutes. It was also Lyon's first defeat on home soil since April 2004, but they remain eleven points clear with five games left to play.
Borussia Dortmund 1
Arminia Bielefeld 1
Striker Isaac Boakye kept Arminia Bielefeld's hoped of staying in the top flight alive with a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw Borussia Dortmund. Boakye came off the bench in the 76th minute. Otto Addo was on the bench for Dortmund.
Nurnberg 1
Bernard Hagan scored a great goal in the 48 minute in Hapoel Haifa's 4:0 win over Bney Sachnin. Haifa now only 6 points from the survive area.
Juventus 5
Lecce 2
Black star's captain Stephen Appiah got his first league goal of the season as he helped Juventus to defeat Lecce 5-2. A victory that took his side 3 points clear at the top of the table. Appiah sprinted forward on Alessio Tacchinardi's pass from practically the centre circle and chipped the goalkeeper to finalise the move.
Fiorentina 0
NOTE: Young midfielder Emmanuel Osei was surprisingly chosen for his first Serie A start.
Udinese 0
Genoa (4-3-1-2): Scarpi, Sartor, Gargo, Stellini, Tosto, Tedesco, Lamouchi, Italiano (36' pt Rimoldi), Zanini, Stellone (30' st Carparelli), Milito (39' st Gemiti).
Vitesse Arnhem 1
Heerenveen 3
Salernitana 2
Modena 2
Week 2 of the Norwegian league is over. [Bann@SoccerForum]There was a lot of media interest when Alex Nyarko signed for IK Start, and the club seemed very happy with this signing. During the two opening games, I haven't heard anything about him, he hasn't played in either. He's most likely injured, would think he'd defend a place in this team as they are newly promoted & not the strongest squad in the Norwegian Premier league.
Halmstad 3
Djurgarden 1
Kayserispor 1
Malatya 1
Ankaraspor 5
