Striker Afriyie, 26, was one of the rising stars of world football as a teenager, and has represented Ghana in World Cup tournaments ast under-20 and under-17 leve, scoring 12 goals in 42 appearences for his country.
Afriyie burst onto the international stage as a 17-year-old, helping Ghana to the final of the Under-17 World Cup in Egypt, where they were narrowly beaten by a Brazil side that included World Football of The Year Ronaldinho.
Afriyie, who was named one of the three players of the touranment, signed for Spanish Primera Liga outfit Malaga a year later,and went on to represent Ghana in the Under-20 World Cup and Under-20 African Cup of Nations in 1999.
He joins Town from Spanish second division side Deportivo Linares, having also enjoyed spells in Austria and Portugal, and Chandler expects the striker to play a pivotal role in his sides promotion challenge.
