Was top scorer in 2009/10 season in the domestic league with Hearts of Oak with 14 goals 22 games. He then moved to the "Egyptian Premier League" Smouha SC. In Egypt in 43 matches he scored 14 goals and 6 assists.

• July 2010: Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Affum has joined Egyptian side Ismailia on a five-year-deal for a fee around US$ 370,000.
• August 2016 - Afum has completed his return to Egypt by signing for top-flight side Wadi Degla.
  
  The 25-year-old is a free agent after leaving Swiss side Young Boys where he struggled to cement his position in the team. The ex-Hearts of Oak attacker has joined Wadi Degla on a permanent contract after agreeing personal terms.
