Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan and Kevin Prince Boateng were on targets for Sassuolo as they smashed Ternana 5-1 in the Coppa Italia round of 32.
Kevin Prince Boateng fetched the opener for Sassuolo with just nine minutes on the clock.
The 25-year-old extended their lead to 3-0 on the half-hour mark after Domenico Berardi has doubled the lead on the 22nd minute.
Domenico Berardi grabbed his second goal of the day on the 41st minute before Francesco Magnanelli completed their victory.
He enjoyed the full duration of the match as Kevin Prince Boateng lasted for 66 minutes with Claud Adjapong watching the match from the bench.
Duncan has capped nine times for Ghana with a goal to his credit.
