Ghanaian forward Francis Afriyie recovered from last week's heartache to power Murcielagos FC to victory over Juarez in the Mexican second-tier league on Saturday.
The former Bechem United hitman denied his side the maximum three points when his attempt to clear a ball from 12 yards was diverted into his own net in their 1-1 stalemate with Alebrijes Oaxaca.
However, the 23-year-old atoned for the error on Saturday in their much anticipated clash against fellow strugglers Juarez as he netted the only goal in the 76th minute of the game.
Afriyie completed the entire duration of the match but there was no place for compatriot Joseph Owusu Bempah in the team's squad.
He joined Murcielagos FC this January on a two-year deal after severing his contract with Serbian side FK Vojvodina.
