Ghana international Joseph Aidoo has opened up about his transfer from Belgian club KRC Genk to Celta Vigo.
The Sky Blues coughed up a reported $10M to sign the defender on a five-year contract during the just-ended summer window.
Aidoo’s campaign in the Belgium top-flight last season impressed Celta Vigo but his showing with the Ghana national team in Egypt heightened their desire to sign him before other clubs swoop for his signature.
“I first heard it when I was on break from my former team Genk, that’s when I heard of Celta’s interest. The negotiations went on whiles I was on duty with the national team at the 2019 AFCON” the 23-year-old revealed.
He has already established himself as one of the club’s best performers in the opening matches of this season’s La Liga campaign.
