According to reports in the La Gazzetta dello Sport Manchester United are interested in Ghanaian international midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.
The 22 year old defensive midfielder is currently on the books of Udinese, who he joined in 2009, and is 2 years into a 4 year deal and is valued at the 8 million pound mark by the Serie A side.
Asamoah, who was named the most Promising African Player in 2010, has been capped 22 times by Ghana and played every match at the 2010 FIFA World Cup for Ghana where they were knocked out in the quarter finals by Uruguay.
Despite being linked with more creative midfielder, recent links suggest a shift in focus for Sir Alex Ferguson who having started the summer with reported swoops for Wesley Sneijder and Luka Modric is now reportedly looking at box to box midfielder with Cheike Tiote also believed to be on the Scots radar.
The change in focus could be to do with the emergence of Tom Cleverley who went fit has impressed for United so far this season.
