Greek giants Panathinaikos have officially cleared up the long-standing salary arrears owed to Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien.
As it was known during the arbitration tribunal on Wednesday afternoon, The Greens paid the last installment which is for the month July and for which they had been brought to the courts.
So two years after the former Chelsea star left Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium, he has finally received his total compensation package.
It will be recalled that in May last year, Panathinaikos were ordered to pay Essien a sum of €418,975 as compensation to bring an end to the litigation between the two sides after the latter took them on for wrongful termination of his contract in September 2016.
Michael Essien joined Panathinaikos from AC Milan in 2015 and left the following year after an injury-plagued season.
