Patrick Twumasi made a substitute appearance as Deportivo Alaves crashed out of the Spanish Cup after losing 2-1 to Girona who secured a 4-3 aggregate win.
Alaves manager understandably opted to rotate his team for this match and started youngsters ahead of Mubarak Wakaso.
His team selection looked to have had the desired effect when the visitors got their noses in front on the hour mark courtesy of an unfortunate own goal scored by Alcala.
However, the hosts responded with two goals from Garnell and Portu in the space of five minutes to turn the tie in their favor.
Twumasi climbed off the bench in the 83rd minute to try and rescue the situation but it was a bit too late as Girona held to book their place in the last 16 of the competition.
