Phoenix Rising FC captain Solomon Asante has lamented the 3-3 home draw with New Mexico United on Saturday night in the USL Championship.
The Black Stars winger scored a brace- all from the spot- in a difficult match which saw them come from behind thrice to earn a point.
The visitors took the first of its three leads in the 16th minute but Asante converted a spot kick in the 29th minute after he was fouled inside the box.
But one minute later, Kevaughn Frater restored their lead to end the first half 2-1.
In the second half, Rising forward Junior Flemmings was taken down in the box to set up another Asante penalty kick.
New Mexico United’s Moar scored his second goal of the match and Rising FC levelled in the 71st minute when Flemmings lofted a cross into the box and Johnson headed it down to bounce it over the helpless goalkeeper to make it 3-3.
After the match Asante tweeted: ''Supporters were amazing tonight. Thanks for coming but the result wasn't what we needed. We can do better than this. Focus on next game.''
