Just like what happened in the opening round of matches in the first round, the first goal of the 2nd round was registered by a WAFA player at the Red Bull Arena but this time around it was scored by Martin Antwi against Ashanti Gold as early as the 2nd minute from of the game.

Charles Boateng made it 2-0 in the 2nd half only for Shafiu Mumuni to pull one back for defending champions Ashanti Gold.

All stars who ended the first round on top of the log made sure their lead over the chasing pack was intact with a narrow victory at home against Berekum Chelsea courtesy Ismael Ganiu's first half goal.

Accra Hearts of Oaks did put up their finest home display this season when they welcomed Dreams FC to the Accra Sports Stadium.

Earlier in the week they parted ways with Kenichi Yatsuhashi leaving tons of fans unhappy.

The appointment of new coach Sergio Traguil who promised a Barca kind tiki taka football couldn't calm the fans down because of the affection had with Kenichi.

In the game itself the Portuguese gaffer Sergio was in the stands because he is yet to secure a work permit but it seems his tiki taka football has kick started. The Phobia Boys played a possession based football with Samudeen Ibrahim at the heart of every attacking move. New signing Patrick Razak also trailed the fans with his pace and dribbling ability.

The home side good football paid off in the 61st minute with Cosmos Dauda benefiting from a goal mouth tassel to give Hearts the lead which ended up as the only goal of the encounter.

The win moves Hearts to 2nd on the lead log with Aduana Stars, Kotoko and Medeama dropping points.

Asante Kotoko did put up a strong 2nd half showing at Ohene Ameyaw Park but it wasn't enough to earn the Porcupine Warriors the maximum point in the game .

Former Kotoko striker Stephen Manu affectionately called B.A earned a spot kick for Techiman City and converted it himself to give the Real Citizens a first half lead.

The 2nd half was a different game all together with Kotoko dominating from start to finish. The stellar display in thesecond half yielded results with Amos Frimpong heading home a cross from a corner kick on the 56th minute.

Obed Owusu was presented with a golden chance to cap off a fine display with a late goal but typical of the experienced striker in recent seasons he failed to hit the back of the net.

A draw at the hostile venue like Takyiman is a good result for the porcupines but with rivals Hearts winning Michael Osei will begin to feel the heat especially coming off from last week's FA Cup exit.

Abednego Tetteh finished off a swift counter attack dribbling Joseph Addo in post for Aduana to place the ball into the empty net.

The striker turned provider few minutes to the end of first half with a through pass to assist Yaw Anorl who made no mistake one-on-one against Joseph Addo.

Back from recess Bright Adjei managed to pull a goal back for Aduana but it only proved to be a consolation with Bechem United holding on to the narrow lead.

At the Swedu Park in Cape Coast, Ebusua Dwarfs kick started the second half of the season on a winning note. Christopher Bonney got the all important goal from the spot to down Liberty Professionals.

Inter Allies playing behind closed doors managed to beat Sekondi Hasaacas by a lone goal. Striker Fredrick Boateng scored the only goal of the game in the 4th minute making amends for his penalty miss a minute earlier.

Another side that had to honour their home game behind closed doors was New Edubiase United. Just like Inter Allies they came out victors with a narrow win over a much fancied Medeama side. The three points wasn't enough to move New Edubiase from the base of the league log.
