A 34-year-old man, Chukwu Monday from Akintola village have been nabbed by the police detectives in Ondo State, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Kefa Ofando, to death over a debt of N2,000 in Odigbo council area of the state.
Arresting the suspect with 10 other suspected criminals, the state Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, said in Akure, the state capital, that the suspect killed the deceased on September 20 this year during an argument over N2,000.
Oladipo, said the crimes committed by 11 of the suspects presented, included murder, robbery, arson and the removal of brain boxes of vehicles and other parts of the vehicle of their victim.
According to him, “on September 20, 2024, the operatives of the Ondo State Police Command, under the Divisional Police Directorate of Odigbo, acting on a complain, immediately responded and arrested Chukwu, on Monday.
“The suspect is said to have stabbed his friend Kefa Ofando, 30, to death. “Investigations revealed that the deceased had borrowed the sum of two thousand naira from the suspect, which when demanded a few days later, led to an argument during which the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck.
