A teenager busted by the police for kidnapping a 2-year-old boy

An 18 year-old teenager, Abba Aliyu busted by the Sokoto State Police for kidnapping his neighbour’s son at Badon Hanya area of ​​Sokoto State.

According to the command's spokesman, ASP Ahmed Rufai, on October 16, 2024, at about 12:00, Ibrahim Shehu told the anti-kidnapping unit of the Sokoto Criminal Investigation Department that his 2 years old son, Saidu Ibrahim had been missing since October 13, 2024.

“Despite efforts to trace him, his whereabouts remained unknown until the kidnapper demanded N2 million for his release, after the sum of five hundred thousand naira was paid before the victim was found.

“Detectives quickly coordinated intelligence operations, locating the suspect in Badon Hanya, behind Zamson petrol station, leading to his arrest.

“During investigation, the suspect admitted that he kidnapped the victim and held him hostage to extort money from his parents, while a Tecno Android phone was used to demand the ransom,” the command said.
