Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko’s Asaase Broadcasting Company (ABC) has officially suspended operations of its Cape Coast-based radio station, Asaase Radio 100.3 FM, citing the need for an operational and financial review.
In a statement released on social media on Monday, February 2, 2026, the company announced that the suspension takes effect in February and is intended to allow management to reassess the station’s performance and sustainability.
“The suspension is temporary,” the statement said, adding that transmission would resume at a later date. “Transmission will resume on a date to be announced. We appreciate your understanding.”
The suspension follows financial difficulties faced by the station, including challenges in generating sufficient revenue to cover running costs after a decline in advertising and other income sources.
While operations in Cape Coast have been halted for now, management has maintained that the decision does not signal a permanent shutdown, and stakeholders have been assured that the situation is under review.
