Former boxer Bukom Banku has publicly apologized to residents of Ga Mashie following an alleged machete attack involving his son, Mustapha Kamoko.
In a statement calling for calm and reconciliation, Bukom Banku appealed to traditional authorities, chiefs, elders, and the people of Ga Mashie to help resolve the matter amicably. He urged the victim’s family to accept his apology and allow the case to be settled peacefully.
The apology follows an incident on December 31, 2025, during a disturbance in Bukom. Reports indicate that the confrontation began after the discharge of firecrackers, which allegedly injured individuals associated with Laud Abbey.
Bukom Banku emphasized the importance of forgiveness and unity, appealing to the public to support efforts to de-escalate tensions surrounding the case.
