The First Lady of Ghana, Lordina Dramani Mahama, is in Addis Ababa alongside President John Dramani Mahama to participate in the Summit of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
The OAFLAD Summit, held on the margins of the African Union Assembly, convenes First Ladies from across the continent to discuss strategies for advancing health, education, women’s empowerment, and social development.
Mrs. Mahama is expected to join her counterparts in high-level discussions focused on improving the wellbeing of women, children, and vulnerable communities, while promoting advocacy initiatives that align with broader continental development goals.
Her participation underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at accelerating progress in gender equality and social protection across Africa.
President Mahama and the First Lady are both expected back in Accra on Monday, 16 February, following the conclusion of their respective engagements in Addis Ababa.
