The Volta Regional Minister, Mr James Gunu, has expressed appreciation to Tema Development Corporation (TDC) Ghana Limited, the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, and President John Dramani Mahama for initiating the Ho Oxygen City Community 27 Project to address the city’s growing housing deficit.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Mr Gunu said the project would provide much-needed accommodation for residents while contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Ho.
He noted that beyond housing delivery, the project would create employment opportunities for local artisans and youth during the construction phase.
According to the Regional Minister, masons, carpenters, painters and other skilled and unskilled workers within the municipality would benefit directly from the initiative, helping to boost local incomes and livelihoods.
Mr Gunu said the development aligned with government’s broader agenda of promoting balanced regional development and improving living conditions across the country.
He assured TDC and other stakeholders of the Region’s full support to ensure the smooth execution of the project, adding that its successful completion would strengthen Ho’s status as a fast-growing administrative, educational and commercial centre.
The Ho Oxygen City Community 27 Project is expected to play a key role in meeting the city’s rising housing demand while supporting job creation and sustainable urban development in the Volta Region.
