New Evidence Complicates RNAQ’s Narrative After High-Profile Interview with Delay — fresh details emerging from court documents appear to challenge key aspects of statements made by businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye during his recent appearance on The Delay Show hosted by Deloris Frimpong Manso.
In the April 26, 2026 interview, Quaye addressed his divorce from his ex-wife, Joana Coffie, offering his version of events surrounding their relationship and eventual separation. Among his claims, he stated that Coffie was not employed after his return from the United Kingdom and around the period leading up to their marriage in 2010.
However, records cited from filings reviewed on April 28, 2026, present a different account. The documents indicate that Coffie held multiple roles over the years in question, including positions at Frankies Food and Rooms Ltd and Simbisa Brands Ghana Limited between 2005 and 2007. Additional records suggest that her Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contributions continued into 2008, followed by employment with Top Recruitment Agency between 2008 and 2009.
Further documentation points to Coffie working as a cashier at UniBank Ghana from 2009 to 2011, with corresponding SSNIT contributions recorded during that period. These details appear to contrast with Quaye’s assertion that she was not working during the time he described.
The interview also touched on the origins of their relationship. Quaye told Delay that he initiated and sustained the relationship despite skepticism from others, describing himself as committed and loyal during his time abroad. He stated that upon returning to Ghana, the relationship progressed into marriage in December 2010.
Yet, portions of the divorce filings offer an alternative narrative. According to the documents, the relationship had experienced strain prior to Quaye’s relocation to the UK, with references to alleged misconduct and disagreements. The filings further suggest that it was Coffie who later proposed rekindling the relationship, a proposal Quaye reportedly declined at the time due to reservations about long-distance relationships.
The emergence of these differing accounts has drawn attention to inconsistencies between public statements and documented records. While neither side has issued a new response addressing the latest developments, the contrast between the interview and court filings is likely to fuel continued public discussion around the case.
As the situation unfolds, observers note that the matter underscores the importance of corroborating personal claims with verifiable records, particularly in high-profile disputes that play out in both media and legal arenas.
