Veteran entertainers Pascaline Edwards and Akosua Agyapong have strongly criticized what they describe as declining standards in Ghana’s journalism industry. Speaking on Spectacle, GTV’s entertainment programme, during a special Mother’s Day edition, the duo accused some media practitioners of prioritizing sensational headlines and online traffic over professionalism.

Akosua Agyapong highlighted the dangers of one-sided reporting, stressing that many journalists fail to seek responses from all parties before publishing damaging stories. She labeled such practices as “lazy” and a form of “armchair journalism” that undermines credibility.

Pascaline Edwards echoed the concerns, pointing to a growing obsession with clicks at the expense of ethical storytelling. Their remarks have sparked public debate about accountability and standards within Ghana’s media landscape.
