
President John Dramani Mahama has officially welcomed Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to Ghana for a three-day State Visit scheduled from April 1 to April 3, 2026.
The Zimbabwean leader arrived in Accra to a ceremonial reception marked by full military honours, signaling the importance both nations place on the visit. The occasion sets the tone for high-level engagements aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
During the visit, President Mahama and President Mnangagwa are expected to hold a private tête-à-tête followed by expanded bilateral talks involving their respective delegations. Discussions will focus on boosting cooperation across key sectors including trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, and sanitation. Both countries are also set to explore joint strategies to tackle pressing challenges such as corruption and unemployment.
A State Banquet will be hosted in honour of President Mnangagwa, highlighting the longstanding friendship and shared history between the two nations. The leaders are additionally expected to witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding aimed at formalizing new areas of collaboration.
The visit underscores the enduring relationship between Ghana and Zimbabwe and reaffirms their mutual commitment to building a stronger strategic partnership geared toward sustainable development and regional progress.
