
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the successful completion of Phase One of the Government’s ongoing Transformer Replacement and Upgrade Programme at the Nmai Dzorn Primary Substation.

"Following this milestone, ECG will proceed with Phase Two of the project at the Lashibi Primary Substation. The Phase Two is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, and will be completed on Thursday, 16th April 2026," the statement signed by the Acting Director of Communications, Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku stated.

"ECG assures all customers that appropriate measures have been put in place to minimise the duration and impact of the outages," it added.
ECG advised customers to plan accordingly during this period.
"This upgrade forms part of the Government’s broader commitment to strengthening infrastructure, reducing system overloads, and delivering improved and reliable electricity services. ECG sincerely appreciates the continued patience, cooperation, and understanding of the public as these essential improvements are carried out," the statement concluded.
