The Ghana National Fire Service has advised the public to regularly inspect their gas cylinders and connections to prevent fire disasters at home.

The Service gave this advice after dousing an inferno outbreak involving Toppies Kitchen, located at Labone near Zen Garden.

The GNFS said it received a distress call at 1619 hours, and a fire crew from the National Headquarters Substation was promptly dispatched at 1620 hours.

Upon arrival, firefighters worked swiftly to contain the situation, bringing the fire under control by 4:37 PM, and fully extinguishing it at 4:53 PM.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was caused by a gas leakage. The incident resulted in partial damage to a gas stove, with no further significant destruction recorded.

The operation was executed by the Yellow Watch, led by ADOI Monnie whose timely response prevented the fire from escalating.

In a statement, the GNFS said "The Ghana National Fire Service advises the public to regularly inspect gas cylinders and connections to prevent similar occurrences."
