However, recent public appearances have quickly put these speculations to rest. On October 12, 2024, Ofori-Atta attended the Induction Service of the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Most Rev. Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, held at the Wesley Cathedral in Accra. Clad in vibrant kente cloth, he later joined the 25th Anniversary Royal Grand Durbar of Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin.
Supporters of the government and the New Patriotic Party were quick to share photos of the former finance minister, dismissing the false health rumors.
Kow Essuman, the president’s lawyer, condemned the rumors as “wicked lies,” while Koku Anyidoho shared videos of Ofori-Atta at the event. “They say Ken Ofori-Atta is on the brink of death and has left Ghana, but I just saw him at the Induction Service of the new Presiding Bishop at Wesley Cathedral in Accra. May God forgive us for spreading such falsehoods,” Anyidoho remarked.
