Prominent media personality MC Yaa Yeboah recently opened up about a painful, deeply personal experience from her school days during a heartfelt interview on the Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso. She shared a hurtful incident at Achimota Preparatory School that left a significant mark on her self-esteem.
After delivering a poem at another school, Yaa Yeboah was pulled aside by her Twi teacher, who cruelly remarked, "You shouldn’t be in a hurry to be in the midst of people. You are not beautiful enough, you can never be a TV presenter. You’re too black to be on TV." This comment, coupled with the bullying she faced from her classmates, left her feeling unattractive throughout her school years. "I never felt pretty, so I used to fight a lot because that was the only language I understood. If anyone tried to come at me, I would beat that person up," she revealed.
Despite these painful experiences, Yaa Yeboah defied the odds and overcame the negativity. Today, she is a highly successful TV and radio presenter and a respected MC, proving that beauty and talent go far beyond society's harmful stereotypes. Her story is a powerful testament to resilience and inner strength.
