Mahama names Kofi Boakye in six-member national security team

President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has established a six-member interim team to manage and coordinate national security matters pending the appointment of substantive officials.




The team, chaired by Prosper Douglas Bani, former Minister for the Interior, will begin its mandate on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

A statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Special Aide to the President-Elect, outlined the composition of the team as follows:

Prosper Douglas Bani – Former Minister for the Interior (Chairman)

Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.) – Former Chief of Defence Staff

Kofi Totobi Quakyi – Former Minister for National Security

Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq. – Former National Security Coordinator

Brigadier General Fuseinu Iddrissu (Rtd.)

COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.)

This interim arrangement aims to ensure seamless management of national security as the new administration takes office.
