Armah-Kofi Buah calls for unity in Ellembelle
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle constituency in the Western Region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has called for unity in Ellembelle following an overwhelming victory chalked during December polls.
He has also assured the chiefs and people of the area of his commitment to lead the process and rally together all constituents for the development of Ellembelle.
He said the development of Ellembelle remains a collective responsibility and therefore, having a united district, would guarantee the area the required development being anticipated by all.
He made the call when he addressed the chiefs and people of Ellembelle at a "Thanksgiving Service and Victory Party" organised to commemorate an overwhelming victory chalked by the NDC during the Presidential and parliamentary elections organised by the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana last week.
The colourful program was held at Ampain on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
"I intend to as usual, work with a united front. We can only develop the Ellembelle District if we are united regardless of our political party differences
He said his administration would be mindful of the consequences of actions to be taken during the four year period in order not to disappoint the constituents due to how sensitive the Ghanaian electorate has become.
According to the former Minister of Energy and Petroleum, the arrogance displayed by the NPP during the last four years actually angered the Ghanaian electorates and at the polls, they demonstrated this anger and members of NPP were severely punished with an embarrassing defeat.
Armah-Kofi Buah noted that the claim by the leadership of the NPP that they were not going to hand over power, was not just annoying to the public, but got defused at the polls.
Aside the open display of arrogance, the lawmaker revealed that the national kitty had equally been depleted under the careful watch of the NPP administration led by President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo
Consequently, the experienced MP, appealed to Ghanaians to manage their expectations as the new administration tackles the challenges facing the country head-on.
He also appealed to Ghanaians to remember President John Dramani Mahama in their prayers as he assumes the arduous task of managing the affairs of the country under such a difficult period.
"We must collectively ask for God's guidance for President John Mahama to deliver the manifesto promises made to the people of Ghana", he called.
He also urged members of NDC to stand firmly behind the president-elect to discharge his duties with peace and tranquility.
"As a party, the NDC is supposed to be the number one pillar to stand by his excellency President John Dramani Mahama", he stated.
Explaining how the NDC managed to secure an overwhelming victory in the December elections, the MP observed that, the electorates went against arrogance and rewarded the NDC for the display of sheer humility and for standing for humanity
A reason, he said the party won areas hitherto considered red zones for the NDC "In some of the areas we won, even Kwame Nkrumah never won elections in those areas. The NDC won virtually everywhere in the December 2024 elections"
Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, assured his constituents of his commitment to carry out thanksgiving services through out all the zones making up the Constituency.
He said the NDC secured super majority in parliament and would use it judiciously for the interest of the Ghanaian people
To this end, he said the humility displayed by the leadership of the party, at the end, conquered the December polls.
He promised that the NDC in Ellembelle would work hard to collapse NPP in the Constituency before the next general elections following the proper leadership that would characterise his new administration.
