The Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, has undertaken an inspection tour of key military recruitment centres across the Greater Accra Region following the resumption of the suspended recruitment exercise after the unfortunate El-Wak stampede.
The visit formed part of efforts to monitor the ongoing recruitment process, evaluate the efficiency of systems put in place, and ensure transparency and fairness in the exercise.
Hon. Brogya Genfi visited the El-Wak Stadium, Nicholson Stadium, the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the Air Force Base in Accra—all major centres for the recruitment activities. At each centre, he engaged directly with officials overseeing the process as well as applicants undergoing screening, reaffirming government’s commitment to a safe, credible, and merit-based recruitment.
In addition, the Deputy Minister joined the Ghana Armed Forces as Guest of Honour at the 2025 Armed Forces and Security Services Day of Prayer held at Burma Camp, Accra. The event brought together personnel from across the security services to seek divine guidance, strength, and unity in service to the nation.
Hon. Brogya Genfi commended the Ghana Armed Forces for the swift reforms introduced to rebuild public trust after recent challenges and urged all stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and discipline throughout the recruitment process.
