President John Mahama appoints Totobi Quakyi as Ghana Gas Board chairperson

President John Dramani Mahama has constituted a new Board of Directors to the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (GNGC), ushering in a leadership team poised to strengthen operations and enhance stakeholder engagement at the state-owned gas entity.




The new appointment, announced in an official statement issued by Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, Head of Corporate Communication at Ghana Gas, bring a diverse group of professionals to the boardroom, including seasoned technocrats and political figures.

The newly appointed Board Members are:

1. Mr. Kofi Totobi Quakyi = Chairperson

2. Ms. Judith Adjeobah Blay (Acting CEO) = Member

3. Mr. Emmanuel Vincent = Member

4. Ms. Nasira Afrah Gyekye (MP) = Member

5. Ms. Charlotte Osei (former EC boss) = Member

6. Mr. Baba Abdul Jamul Adama

7. Awulae Agyefi Kwame II (Nsein Paramount Chief) = Member

8. Mr. Samuel Kwame Borlu (NDC Western Regional Vice Chairman) = Member

9. Mr. Blay Nyamekye Armah (Sekondi MP) = Member

The inclusion of Ms. Charlotte Osei, former Electoral Commission Chairperson, is particularly noteworthy, as her return to a public leadership role underscores her continued relevance in national development.

According to the statement, the appointments reflect President Mahama’s confidence in the individuals’ capacity to steer the affairs of the company and address its operational challenges.

The company aims to ensure quality assurance and promote peaceful coexistence between the GNGC and host communities.

“We look forward to working with the new Board to enhance the company’s business,” the statement noted.

The new Ghana Gas Board has their maiden meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in Accra where the members pledged to support the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to reset the company to benefit the entire country.

The acting CEO of the company, Judith Adjobah Blay expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and John Jinapor for constituting the board in order to move the company forward.
