An unprecedented number of people witnessed the campaign launch of the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Effia Constituency, Abdul Majeed Nassam Dokurigu.
The enthusiastic crowd sang various campaign songs and danced to the melodious tunes of NDC as they listen to speaker after speaker.
Not even a heavy downpour recorded in the early hours of the program detered the determined residents who came out in their numbers to support the NDC and to show Abdul Majeed Nassam Dokurigu true love.
Many of the speakers who mounted the podium said the saturday event was not only historic, but sent a signal that the aspiring Parliamentarian was on his way to Ghana's Parliament.
They showered praises on the candidate for pulling the unprecedented cowd in the political history of Effia, and given the NDC an indication that the Effia seat was winnable ahead of the polls.
Deputy Minority Leader of Parliament, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah assured the electorates of the determination to wrestle the Effia seat with a resounding victory.
Western Regional Chairman of NDC, Nana Kojo Toku, appealed to the rank and file of the party to unite ahead of the polls.
He called on feuding factions within the party to bury their differences and rally behind the party to secure victory in December.
Western Regional Communications Officer of NDC, Richard Kirk-Mensah, did not spare the incumbent Members of Parliament within the Sekondi Takoradi enclave when he pointed out the abysmal performances they each recorded over the years.
Western Regional Secretary of NDC, Joseph Nelson also appealed to the constituents to give NDC an opportunity to provide them with true servant leadership.
The Parliamentary candidate for Effia, Abdul Majeed Nassam Dokurigu who could not believe his eyes upon seeing the crowd that gathered, commended them for showing him true love.
He assured them of his commitment to provide servant leadership once elected as the lawmaker.
The sights and scenes at the Effiakuma Police Park, they underscored, juxtaposed the weight and charisma of Abdul Majeed Nassam Dokurigu in the Parliamentary race.
The candidate, would however face the Parliamentary candidate of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Isaac Yaw Boamah Nyarko.
Both candidates are contesting the seat for the first time after beating their respective contenders in their respective parties primaries.
The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Effia Joseph Cudjoe lost in his party's Parliamentary primaries to Patrick Boamah.
The race in the Effia Constituency, has therefore been described as one of the seats closely being monitored by political researchers and polsters due to the anticipated competitiveness.
Where as the two candidates contesting remain new to the seat, the NPP has been holding the seat since its creation in 2012.
The seat was carved out of the Effia- Kwesimintsim Constituency, making Kwesimintsim Constituency an autonomous seat.
Interestingly, the NPP has maintained its dominace in these area following the back to back victories recorded in all the two Constituencies and therfore holding on to the two seats in Parliament since the petitioning of the mother Constituency.
