Cape Coast – In a strategic move to position Cape Coast as a premier destination for tourism and investment, the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) inaugurated its first cohort of Tourism and Development Ambassadors on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

The ceremony, held at the CCMA Assembly Hall, marks a pivotal step in the city’s campaign to highlight its economic potential and rich historical heritage. The newly appointed ambassadors, drawn from diverse professional fields, are tasked with leveraging their expertise and influence to promote Cape Coast’s cultural assets and investment opportunities globally.

Among the notable appointees is Nana Ama Egyirba, Station Manager of Asaase 100.3 FM in Cape Coast, who stands out as the sole female media manager selected. A professional MC, voiceover artist, and fashion enthusiast, Egyirba brings a distinct blend of skills to the role.

From representing Cape Coast on various platforms to transitioning from the beauty pageant stage to a leading voice in media, she now adds "Tourism and Development Ambassador" to her portfolio.

Egyirba brings a strong, professional, and relatable presence to Cape Coast media. Through her radio shows, she not only informs and entertains but also advocates for her community, connecting local issues to broader national conversations.

As a media manager and entrepreneur, she bridges broadcasting with marketing and communications. This gives her a unique perspective and the ability to shape how the city's stories are told and received.

Her talent and consistency have been recognized at national and local media awards, earning her respect among peers and credibility with audiences. This is evident in platforms like her “What Women Want” show, where she fosters dialogue on gender, empowerment, and community issues—using media not just as a job, but as a tool for social impact.

Speaking after the inauguration, she expressed her honour at the recognition. “This is a feather in my cap, motivating me to do even more,” she stated. “I have long been involved in activities geared toward the growth of Cape Coast, including MCing the 60th and 61st Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebrations. This role formalises that commitment.”

In his inaugural address, the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. George Justice Arthur, charged the ambassadors to serve with integrity, innovation, and dedication. He emphasised the importance of collaboration with the Assembly to drive tourism, attract investment, and advocate for sustainable development.

The ambassadors’ broad mandate includes enhancing visitor experiences, marketing the city, fostering community engagement, supporting the local economy, and building strategic partnerships. As Cape Coast looks ahead, the community awaits the tangible impact this new body will have on the city’s growth trajectory.
